I find myself walking down streets in Sheung Wan I have never visited before (shockingly based on how long I have been in HK) looking for Barista Jam. This is a coffee shop I have heard of however never had the pleasure of trying until now. Side by side with another coffee shop, Barista Jam is a comfortable and welcoming stop off to enjoy a full hearted, solid flat white. Out of the mayhem and into a warm, caffeine infused atmosphere brimming with a plethora of beans to indulge in. With a selection of international beans on display and an array of cakes to accompany the Barista Jam got my attention.
“It doesn’t matter where you’re from – or how you feel… There’s always peace in a strong cup of coffee.”
Served in what I would call an old-school thick mug, the flat white was powerful, fruity with a deep intensity. It seemed like a never ending cup of coffee by the generous size of the mug (which you do pay for though) and I was glad it was! Nothing fancy, nothing unnecessary, just a powerful hit of smooth intensity to ignite the senses and subdue the cravings.
A great place to enjoy a flat white whilst doing some work.
Sit at the bar, get a big mug of flat white and get stuck in.
